First Woman Appointed to Command Artillery Brigade in IDF History

Colonel Efrat Keikuv has been appointed commander of the 282nd Artillery Brigade, making her the first woman to lead this unit. Currently, Keikuv commands the 213th Artillery Brigade. Previously, she served as the deputy commander of the 282nd Artillery Brigade and was the first woman to command a battalion in the Artillery Corps.

Keikuv's appointment marks a significant milestone, as she is the second woman in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to be appointed as a brigade commander. Her career progression highlights increasing opportunities for women in senior command roles within the military.
