Ofer Winter Calls for Gaza Emigration and Swift Military Victory

Ofer Winter, head of the newly formed "Am Yisrael" party, stated at the party's first meeting that facilitating the emigration of Gazans is a viable and desirable option. "We must help them emigrate. They very much want to leave here, we must do this," Winter declared, emphasizing that emigration and swift decision-making are not mere slogans. He also called for the immediate release of reservist soldiers, arguing they should return to their civilian jobs and that their prolonged reserve duty is unnecessary.

The meeting, held at the home of party member Sigal Kraunik-Attia in Kibbutz Be'eri, also featured remarks from Kraunik-Attia. She is the widow of Arik Kraunik, Be'eri's security coordinator who was killed on October 7. Kraunik-Attia asserted that the community would no longer tolerate incendiary balloon attacks that destroy their fields, nor would they accept a policy of "containment" regarding Gaza.

Winter's remarks suggest a policy shift from the current approach, advocating for active measures to encourage Gazan departure and a decisive military end to the conflict. The party's stance, as articulated by Winter and Kraunik-Attia, reflects a desire for security and a definitive resolution to the ongoing tensions with Gaza.
