Israeli Minister Warns Right-Wing Parties Against Division Ahead of Elections

Minister of Intelligence Eli Cohen has issued a stark warning regarding the growing tensions within Israel's right-wing bloc, expressing deep concern over the potential for parties to fall below the electoral threshold and the subsequent failure to form a right-wing government. Speaking on Radio Galey Israel, Cohen criticized the leaders of smaller parties within the bloc, urging them to unite and prioritize national interests over personal ambition.

Cohen specifically called out National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, reminding him of the significant efforts Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made to help Ben-Gvir enter the Knesset and the government. "You cannot spit in the well that helped you in the national camp," Cohen stated, implying Ben-Gvir owes a debt to Netanyahu's support.

Cohen further elaborated on his fears, suggesting that parties polling at around four seats might not pass the electoral threshold. He asserted that if a right-wing government does not secure at least 61 seats in the Knesset, Ben-Gvir and another figure, Ofer Winter, would be held responsible. Cohen implored them to "come to their senses, show responsibility, put ego aside, and see the State of Israel first."
