Singer Shimi Tavori Defends PM Netanyahu, Citing His Service and Sacrifice

Israeli singer Shimi Tavori has publicly defended Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, explaining his decision to dedicate a song to the premier. Tavori stated in a radio interview that he felt compelled to speak out due to the criticism directed at Netanyahu, asking, "What do they actually want from him? He's doing everything, in my opinion." Tavori emphasized that his song, titled 'The Prayer of Benjamin Netanyahu,' is not political and does not represent an endorsement of any party.

He explained that his motivation stemmed from personal pain witnessing the public attacks on the Prime Minister. Tavori highlighted Netanyahu's long tenure as Prime Minister, his military service, and the loss of his brother in Israel's wars as reasons for his support. He reiterated that the song was not created to express a political stance or to support the Likud party or Netanyahu personally, but rather out of empathy for the criticism the Prime Minister faces.

In addition to discussing his support for Netanyahu, Tavori also touched upon his use of artificial intelligence and an upcoming culinary venture involving jachnun, a traditional Yemenite-Jewish pastry. He acknowledged both the benefits and drawbacks of AI, noting its incredible capabilities while also recognizing its potential downsides. Tavori admitted to using AI in his work, including for his jachnun project, but stressed that he maintained his signature style.
