Netanyahu's Son Slams UK Over 'Anti-Israel' Policies

Yair Netanyahu, son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, escalated his criticism of the United Kingdom, drawing parallels between British outrage over his recent comments on the Falkland Islands and Israeli feelings regarding the UK's "anti-Israel" policies. Two days after suggesting the British-held Falklands belong to Argentina, Netanyahu the younger tweeted on Monday to UK residents, "You were outraged by my comment about the Falklands - a pile of rocks 12,000 kilometers from your shores? Good. Now imagine how we Israelis feel about your government's recognition of 'Palestine' over our historic homeland in Judea and Samaria, the denial of our sovereignty over our capital Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, its constant interference in our internal affairs, and its ongoing criticism of our country."

He further clarified that Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and the Golan are "at the heart of our country, which is already about the size of Wales, not lands thousands of kilometers away from us." Netanyahu also contended that the UK government's criticism of Israel's response to the October 7th Hamas attacks in Gaza is hypocritical. He argued that if the UK were attacked by a terror group that killed, raped, tortured, and kidnapped thousands of its citizens, while firing thousands of rockets, Britain's response would be far harsher.

Netanyahu cited Britain's actions in World War II, stating the UK "destroyed Germany, killing millions of German civilians." He also pointed out that British casualties in Afghanistan and Iraq were higher than those in Gaza, despite neither country having directly attacked Britain or posed an immediate threat. "Since the greatest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust on October 7th, we have experienced only hostility, antisemitism, and blood libels from your government," he concluded, asserting that "the alliance works in both directions."
