Dolav Haziha Recounts On-Field Altercations and Team Dynamics

Maccabi Netanya winger Dolav Haziha has spoken about his experiences, including a notable confrontation with teammate Abdoulaye Seck. Haziha described Seck as initially the best defender in the league, but his personality created friction within the team. During a difficult match against Hapoel Jerusalem, Seck became enraged after a comment from Dean David and began cursing. When Haziha attempted to mediate and calm the situation, Seck physically lifted him in the air, despite their otherwise friendly relationship.

Haziha also discussed his former teammate Omer Atzili, noting a significant difference between Atzili's performance in training and in matches. He described Atzili as someone who didn't exert much effort in practice, yet transformed into a star player during games, a phenomenon Haziha found difficult to explain. He contrasted this with Neta Lavi, whom he considered the team's anchor, a calm and intelligent player who navigated situations wisely.

Reflecting on the arrival of forward Pierrot, Haziha admitted that the team initially doubted his abilities, joking that he looked more like a basketball player than a footballer. He also addressed the controversial chants against Maccabi Tel Aviv following his team's first championship. Haziha explained that he was heavily intoxicated after celebrations, leading him to participate in the singing. He later apologized for the songs, stating he is generally a homebody who doesn't drink or frequent clubs.
