Israel Military Prepares for Potential Confrontation with Turkey Amid Rising Tensions

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are increasing their readiness for a potential military confrontation with Turkey, according to reports from Kan News. In recent months, the Israeli Navy has observed growing preparations by the Turkish Navy, including increased military exercises and a stronger presence in the Mediterranean Sea and key shipping lanes.

IDF officials describe this Turkish buildup as a "potential for a possible turning point," indicating a strategic need for Israel to prepare for a military conflict scenario. This heightened alert comes amid broader regional tensions.

Approximately two weeks ago, the Israeli Air Force struck the Al-Dhahir airport in Syria, located about 70 kilometers from the Turkish border. Israel identified Turkish preparations to deploy troops and install radar systems at the site. Israeli security officials informed the United States that this move could have altered the regional balance of power.

Despite the operational preparations, an Israeli defense official emphasized that Israel does not seek to make Turkey an enemy. Secret channels are reportedly being used between the two countries to convey messages and prevent friction.
