Former Maccabi Tel Aviv Youth Player Scores Against Galatasaray
Novatus Miroshi, a 23-year-old midfielder who came up through the Maccabi Tel Aviv youth system but never played for the senior team, recently scored a significant goal against the star-studded Turkish club Galatasaray. Miroshi, who joined Maccabi Tel Aviv's academy from Tanzania in 2020, was later sold to Zulte Waregem for 500,000 euros after a stint with Beitars Tel Aviv Bat Yam. He then moved to the Turkish league, where his current club, Göztepe, has seen his market value soar to an estimated 5 million euros.
In a recent match, Miroshi opened the scoring in the 16th minute against Galatasaray with a goal from a corner kick. Despite his individual success, Göztepe ultimately lost the game 3-2, with Victor Osimhen contributing a goal and an assist for the winning side. This goal marks a major career moment for Miroshi, who is the first Tanzanian player to score against Galatasaray in the local league.
Miroshi is contracted with Göztepe until 2028 and has also earned 35 caps for the Tanzanian national team.
