Jewish Music Duo Releases Long-Awaited Duet 'Hashkifa'

Jewish music artists Rafael Malul and Kobi Brumer have released a new duet titled 'Hashkifa,' featuring a melody composed by Eli Klein a decade ago for Malul. The song, which remained unreleased for ten years, was inspired by the traditional Priestly Blessing, 'Hashkifa me'meon kodshecha min hashamayim uve'rach et amecha et Yisrael' (Look down from Your holy dwelling in heaven and bless Your people Israel).

Brumer discovered the melody several years ago and expressed his desire to perform it with Malul. The idea for a duet emerged recently during the song's production, aiming to imbue the track with a unique emotional and musical depth. The decision to release the single before the High Holy Days (Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur) was influenced by the Passover holiday, during which the Priestly Blessing at the Western Wall was held in a limited capacity.

The song's message is a powerful plea for divine blessing, a sentiment the artists believe resonates with everyone. Eli Klein and Yitzy Berry are credited with the musical arrangement and production, creating a rich soundscape that complements the harmonious blend of Malul and Brumer's voices.

A special music video accompanying the song was filmed in Jerusalem's Yeshurun Synagogue and its surrounding alleys, adding a visually stunning dimension that connects the lyrics to the sacred location.
