Cantor and Composer R' Shmuel Toledano Releases New Single 'Seder Musar'

Cantor and composer R' Shmuel Toledano has released a new single titled 'Seder Musar' (Order of Morality), inspired by the teachings of the renowned 18th-century rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto's work, 'Mesilat Yesharim' (Path of the Upright).

The single arrives during the Hebrew month of Elul, a period of introspection and spiritual preparation leading up to the High Holy Days. 'Seder Musar' aims to provide a musical expression for moral teachings, focusing on the core message from the first chapter of 'Mesilat Yesharim': 'Man was not created for his condition in this world, but for his condition in the world to come.'

Toledano composed the melody himself, seeking to preserve the spiritual depth of the text while offering a contemporary and moving musical interpretation. Yehuda Ben Moshe arranged the music, creating a rich sonic landscape, and also worked on the vocals and choir with Avi Zano. Avi Zano also mixed the track, which was recorded at YBM Studios.

This new single is a prelude to an upcoming album entirely composed by R' Shmuel Toledano. The choice to launch with 'Seder Musar' is deliberate, as its message of contemplation and transcendence is particularly fitting for this time of year. Toledano's powerful delivery and melody are intended to resonate deeply, encouraging inner reflection.
