Former Negev Mayor, Ex-IDF Colonel Join Gadi Eisenkot's Party

Tal Ohana Hachmon, former head of the Yerucham local council, and Nir Hajbi, a former IDF colonel and resident of Kibbutz Kissufim, are joining the 'Yashar!' party led by Gadi Eisenkot. Ohana Hachmon is known for her work in education, employment, and regional development in the Negev, and has also been involved in rehabilitation efforts in northern communities affected by the war.

Hajbi, a decorated former combat officer who served for 26 years and commanded a reserve battalion during the recent conflict, was recognized as an outstanding officer by the IDF chief of staff in 2025. He lost his son, Yonatan, during the Hamas attack on October 7th.

Eisenkot welcomed the new members, stating they have dedicated years to security, settlement, and development in the south. He emphasized the party's commitment to prioritizing the rehabilitation and development of the south, aiming to make it a secure, prosperous, and growing region.

Ohana Hachmon expressed her desire to place the Negev and Galilee at the forefront of national priorities. Hajbi stated the goal is not only to restore the western Negev to its pre-October 7th state but to build it back stronger and more prosperous.
