Sephardi Chief Rabbi Slams Attorney General, Threatens Divine Retribution

Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, the spiritual leader of the Shas party, launched a scathing attack on Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, calling her "crazy" and invoking divine punishment.

Rabbi Yosef's remarks were a direct response to concerns raised by Baharav-Miara regarding potential election campaigning during memorial ceremonies for Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, a revered former Sephardi Chief Rabbi and spiritual leader of Shas. The Attorney General had expressed apprehension that such ceremonies might be exploited for political purposes.

"This will not pass in silence," Rabbi Yosef declared, adding, "God will give her her punishment." He further stated, "The Attorney General is crazy, God will destroy her."
