Ultra-Orthodox Protesters Block Jerusalem Entrance Over Sabbath Bus Routes
On Saturday evening, ultra-Orthodox protesters blocked the main entrance to Jerusalem to demonstrate against bus lines operating on the Sabbath. Nearly an hour after the blockade began, police reported that disorderly protesters had started obstructing the road and disrupting traffic. Reinforced police units were dispatched to the scene to disperse the crowd and restore normal traffic flow. Authorities also stated they were redirecting vehicles to alternative routes entering the city. The buses targeted by the protesters actually arrive in Jerusalem only after the Sabbath ends, in accordance with the existing status quo.
