Maccabi Tel Aviv Squad Strengthens as Key Players Return Ahead of Season

Maccabi Tel Aviv has completed its first full week of training, though the squad remains incomplete. During the week, the team welcomed Kiton Wallace, who will gradually integrate into the lineup, but three foreign players are still absent. On Saturday, Afe Lundberg is expected to arrive in Tel Aviv after Denmark's recent loss to Romania in the qualifiers for the 2029 European Championship. Lundberg spent two weeks preparing with the Danish national team, and Maccabi plans to manage his workload carefully to ensure peak condition for the season start in four weeks.

Later this week, Jalen Hurd and Daniel Theis are also expected to join the team. Hurd has recently played for the French national team and has received considerable praise for his performance. Theis is likely to participate in Germany's crucial match against Poland, which could secure Germany's spot in the World Cup. Theis did not play in Germany's recent win over the Netherlands to recover from an injury sustained against Croatia and is not expected to participate in Maccabi's upcoming Friday friendly.

Hurd and Theis will not take part in the Friday friendly against Bnei Herzliya. Maccabi will hold another preparatory match a week later against Maccabi Rishon LeZion in Israel. Following that, the team will travel to Cyprus for a final warm-up tournament before competing in the Super Cup against Hapoel Tel Aviv.
