Olympiacos Hosts Hapoel Tel Aviv in Alternate Arena Due to Home Court Renovations

Olympiacos, the reigning European basketball champion, announced it will not play in its usual home venue, Peace and Brotherhood Hall, until the end of 2026 due to extensive renovations. As a result, the Greek club will host Hapoel Tel Aviv on November 25 at the smaller Sonel Arena in Athens, which has a capacity of 9,327 seats compared to 11,640 at their regular court. This change means Hapoel Tel Aviv will not visit one of Olympiacos's traditional home courts in Europe this season.

The sports director, Christos Bafes, stated that the renovation work is about 80% complete but emphasized the importance of finishing the project properly, even if it takes longer. Olympiacos plans to continue maintaining the Peace and Brotherhood Hall and will resume training there in the 2026/27 season. Maccabi Tel Aviv is also scheduled to play at Olympiacos's home court on January 28, but it is likely they will also miss playing in the usual venue due to the ongoing renovations.

Olympiacos's EuroLeague home games for the first half of the season include matches against Anadolu on October 9, Fenerbahce on October 23, Milan on October 30, Crvena Zvezda on November 6, and Real Madrid on November 20, before hosting Hapoel Tel Aviv on November 25. The team will continue its season with other home games against Villeurbanne, Partizan Belgrade, Baskonia, Paris, and Maccabi Tel Aviv through January 28, 2027.
