Family of Pedestrian Killed in Jerusalem Scooter Accident Located for Burial

The search for the family of Rabbi Nachman Bergman, who died after a severe traffic accident on Jerusalem's HaMag Street, has concluded successfully. Rabbi Bergman was critically injured on Friday night when he collided with a garbage bin while riding an electric scooter. Emergency responders provided initial treatment and transported him to Shaare Zedek Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Since he was not carrying identification, authorities were initially unable to identify him.

Following an urgent public appeal by ZAKA, a volunteer rescue organization, family members were quickly located. ZAKA's legal representatives and volunteers, accompanied by police officers, visited the family to deliver the tragic news and support them. Meanwhile, ZAKA volunteers worked through the night to complete all necessary medical and legal procedures to ensure the deceased's dignified burial.

Rabbi Bentzi Oring, head of ZAKA Jerusalem, expressed relief and gratitude for the public's assistance in locating the family promptly. The funeral for Rabbi Nachman Bergman is scheduled for Saturday night at 11:00 PM at the Kehilat Yerushalayim funeral home on Mount of Olives, where he will be laid to rest. The community prays that his soul be bound in the bond of life.
