Iranian President Says Draft Approval Will Test U.S. Seriousness
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that after intensive discussions, most members of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council approved the text of a memorandum of understanding. He said the approval of the wording will serve as a test of how seriously the United States intends to respect the rights of the Iranian people.
Pezeshkian added that guidance from the leader, Mojtaba, played the biggest role in inserting clauses that protect Iran’s national interests. He described the understandings reached so far as an important step toward ending the war and opening negotiations.
At the same time, he stressed that no final agreement has been reached yet. The remarks indicate that the draft approval is part of an ongoing diplomatic process, not a completed settlement.
