Bennett blasts Netanyahu over Iran deal and vows to restore security
Former prime minister and Yesh Atid? No, Together party leader Naftali Bennett on Monday attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the government over the deal signed between the United States and Iran. He said Netanyahu’s tenure began with a civil war, continued with the October 7 massacre, and is ending in a “historic failure” against Iran.
Bennett told Israelis he understood their frustration, fear, and pain, but urged them to “lift your heads” and said, “It does not have to be like this. There will be good here again. We can restore security to Israel.” He added that if he had been running the campaign, he would have acted differently in every area.
When asked what he would do differently, Bennett replied, “Everything.” He also criticized the government’s international messaging and said that alongside the military campaign he would have reestablished the national public diplomacy headquarters he created while serving as prime minister. “I would not have allowed the TikTok ministers to carry out public diplomacy attacks left and right. This is terrible damage,” he said.
Bennett ended by saying that “the countdown to regime change in Iran will begin the moment the government in Israel is replaced.” He predicted that the Jewish people would soon choose a new, energetic and determined leadership that would restore security and care for citizens “from the heart,” concluding, “With God’s help, it will be good here.”
