Netanyahu Offers Former Mossad Official Sagiv Assulin a Safe Knesset Spot on Likud List

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has offered former senior Mossad operative Sagiv Assulin a secured position on the Likud party's Knesset list, according to a report by Maariv on Thursday. Assulin served in Mossad in operational roles up to the rank equivalent to a colonel and was previously chairman of the National Student Union. Currently, he leads the security concept of Israel's "Eighth Front" and is a founding member of the non-Jewish Zionist Congress (JCZC). He is also a senior researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, specializing in Iranian affairs and influence operations, and regularly appears as a security and political commentator on various media channels.

Earlier this year, Assulin joined Channel 14 as an intelligence and security analyst, where he contributes to current affairs and prime-time programs, providing expert analysis on security, intelligence, and strategy. Channel 14 highlighted his operational experience and deep understanding of Israel's security challenges as valuable assets for their viewers. This political move by Netanyahu signals an effort to strengthen Likud's security credentials ahead of upcoming elections.
