Complaint Filed Against Police Spokesman Over Attack on Yair Golan
Reserve Major (res.) Yaya Fink filed a complaint on Monday with Israel’s Police Internal Investigations Department against police spokesman Chief Supt. Aryeh Doron. The complaint followed Doron’s public remarks attacking Yair Golan, the chairman of The Democrats party.
Fink said the police had reached “a new low” under National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, arguing that calling Golan, a former deputy IDF chief of staff who went out on October 7 to save lives, a “great enemy of Israel” amounted to political takeover of the police. He called for an immediate investigation and said Doron should be removed from his post.
The dispute centers on Doron’s response after a terror attack near Kfar Yair, which prompted reactions from the police chief and Ben Gvir. The article also notes a public appearance by Golan at The Democrats conference on May 31, 2026.
