CIA Chief Visits Russia to Press Iran-Russia Ties and Warn of Israeli-Ukrainian Security Shift

CIA Director John Ratcliffe made an unexpected visit to Moscow, where he held extensive talks with senior Russian officials. During the discussions, Ratcliffe urged Russia to distance itself from Iran, particularly regarding military technology and development cooperation. He warned that Washington expects Russia to avoid overreacting to expanding U.S. sanctions against Iran, which have intensified following the U.S. Treasury Secretary's declaration of an "all-out war" on Iran's economy.

Ratcliffe also informed the Russian side that the U.S. is aware of Russia supplying components that enhance Iran's drone capabilities and assisting Tehran in targeting American facilities. He cautioned that if Russia continues its support for Iran, the United States might encourage Israel to deepen its military ties with Ukraine, thereby increasing Israeli-Ukrainian security cooperation.
