Palestinian Authority Schools Incorporate Hamas October 7 Attacks Into Curriculum Exercises

Schools managed by the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank have integrated math exercises and poems based on the Hamas attacks of October 7 into their curricula, according to the monitoring group Palestinian Media Watch. At the Al-Kuwait elementary school, nine-year-old students were tasked with multiplication problems involving the number of Israeli casualties and the quantity of rockets fired by Al-Qassam Brigades over nine days. Teachers praised students who included derogatory terms and tributes to "martyrs" alongside their calculations. Concurrently, elementary school girls in Hebron, Ramallah, Tulkarm, Nablus, and Jenin were recorded reciting poems glorifying the attack and expressing pride in the events of that day.

Itamar Marcus, head of Palestinian Media Watch, warned that this institutional glorification of killing Israelis reveals the deep-rooted nature of the phenomenon within Palestinian Authority educational institutions. He emphasized that declared reforms would be ineffective without changes in leadership and school oversight. This revelation comes as PA schools operate only three days a week due to a severe economic crisis that has forced cuts in public services.
