Investigation Reveals Palestinian Authority's Systematic Support for Terrorism in West Bank
A new investigative report titled "7.10, West Bank Version" exposes the Palestinian Authority's (PA) extensive role in fostering terrorism against Israel, challenging the Israeli security establishment's reliance on "security coordination". The report, aired as the second episode in a series by Eliya Aviv, reveals that the PA operates not as a limited policing body under the Oslo Accords but as a well-oiled military and ideological apparatus aimed at Israel's destruction.
The investigation highlights the PA's indoctrination of Palestinian children from birth through official textbooks that promote hatred and glorify terrorism. Yuval Blumberg describes this as "Nazi-like indoctrination," emphasizing that the education system encourages admiration for terrorists. Wisam Jibran adds that children are taught daily that the land of Israel belongs to Palestinians and that they must become "martyrs" to reclaim it.
A particularly disturbing finding concerns the PA's economic and bureaucratic support for imprisoned terrorists. The report reveals that terrorists incarcerated in Israel are treated as PA civil servants, accumulating seniority and receiving pensions and benefits based on their time in Israeli prisons. Lital Shemesh explains that the PA values and glorifies these prisoners, rewarding them financially according to the severity of their crimes.
The report questions the Israeli security system's awareness and response, noting that support for terrorism is widespread among Palestinians, not limited to a fringe. Itamar Marcus points out that PA schools celebrated the October 7 attacks on their own initiative. Moran Tal criticizes the concept of security coordination with the PA, calling it a "existential threat" rather than cooperation.
The investigation concludes with a stark warning that Israel may be underestimating a growing military threat in the West Bank, fueled by education promoting hatred and financial incentives for terrorism. Lital Shemesh summarizes, "These are their values... and the vast majority want the destruction of the State of Israel."
