Napoli president reportedly wants Israeli winger Anan Khalaily
Napoli are said to be among the leading contenders for Union Saint-Gilloise winger Anan Khalaily after another strong season in Belgium. The report, published June 15, 2026, says the Italian club is looking for a new right back for next season, and Khalaily is one of the hottest names under consideration, alongside Brazilian Dodo, who played with Manor Solomon last season.
Italian journalist Pascal Tina of Radio Marte said Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is especially drawn to Khalaily because of his age. “Napoli really want Khalaily, largely because of his young age,” Tina said. “De Laurentiis knows he is a young player on whom he can make a significant profit within two years.”
Tina added that Dodo, who is 28, is a different profile. “He is a very good footballer, but at 28 Napoli know it will be hard to sell him for a profit in the future,” he said. “Strategically, I know the club are looking for a young player.”
From a tactical standpoint, Khalaily has played both as a central striker and as an attacking winger. Some observers think he is less suited to a defensive fullback role, but Napoli believe he can cover the entire flank in both attack and defense, even in a four-man back line. Despite the interest, Italian reports say there are still doubts about whether the transfer is realistic, and Napoli are continuing to assess both his fit for the project and the terms demanded by his club. A final decision is still far off, and negotiations are expected to continue.
