IDF Gradually Dismantles Hezbollah’s Long-Built Infrastructure in Southern Lebanon

Israeli security officials assess that Hezbollah is steadily weakening in southern Lebanon as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continue dismantling the group’s infrastructure built over more than two decades. This was reported following a recent situation assessment held by the Northern Command, led by Major General Rafi Milo, amid ongoing military operations and diplomatic pressures from Lebanon and the United States.

A senior security source stated that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s "life’s work" in southern Lebanon is being dismantled step by step, with the IDF locating and destroying terror infrastructure that supported tens of thousands of operatives. The source emphasized that dozens of such sites have already been destroyed and operations are ongoing.

The weakening of Hezbollah is not limited to physical infrastructure. Security officials highlight a generational shift within the organization, noting that veteran commanders with deep operational experience and knowledge of Israel are no longer present. Their replacements, including senior figures, lack comparable military and political experience and do not maintain the extensive connections in Tehran necessary to drive strategic initiatives.

Since the start of the conflict, it is estimated that between 7,000 and 9,000 Hezbollah members have been killed, with the current estimate around 8,000 casualties including fighters, auxiliaries, commanders, and senior officials. Additionally, the Radwan Force suffered severe damage, and infrastructure related to Hezbollah’s "Galilee conquest plan" has been destroyed. The group’s combat arsenal, consisting of approximately 150,000 items, has also been significantly impacted.

Despite diplomatic pressures from Beirut and Washington, Israeli security forces intend to continue targeting Hezbollah’s infrastructure to further weaken the organization.
