Center-Right Parties Negotiate Unity Amid Conflicting Reports

Intense negotiations are underway between centrist and liberal-right political factions in Israel concerning a potential union, though conflicting accounts of the behind-the-scenes discussions are emerging. According to i24NEWS correspondent Amiel Yarhi, political circles estimate that ongoing talks between Blue and White Chairman Benny Gantz and "The Unity" Party Chairman Gilad Erdan could position Gantz at the top of a combined list. The emerging framework reportedly favors Blue and White significantly, rather than an equal power-sharing arrangement between the two parties.

However, sources within Erdan's party are downplaying these reports, presenting a different narrative. A source from "The Unity" party stated that the issue of list placements has not yet been discussed. "Contrary to the briefings, the issue of list placements has not been discussed at all in the talks held between the parties so far," the source said. "First, we will reach agreements on the fundamental principles for running together, and only then will the issue of list placements be discussed."
