Significant Vote Discrepancies Found in Likud 2026 Primaries Prompt Calls for Full Recount

A sample review of vote protocols and summaries from the Likud 2026 primaries revealed substantial discrepancies between recorded votes and official results, raising concerns about the accuracy of the final tallies. The investigation compared original protocols with the official Likud data and found differences of dozens to over a hundred votes for individual candidates at single polling stations. For example, in Dalit al-Karmel, Ze'ev Elkin was credited with 130 votes in the protocol but only 26 in the official form, a gap of 104 votes. In Modiin, Amichai Shikli received 94 votes according to the protocol but only 3 were recorded officially. Similar discrepancies were found in Jerusalem and Lod, with some candidates losing or gaining votes compared to the original counts.

These inconsistencies suggest possible human errors during manual data entry rather than deliberate manipulation, as some candidates had votes added while others had votes subtracted. However, the scale of the errors, which could cumulatively amount to hundreds of votes, is significant enough to potentially affect candidate rankings, especially in close races. Due to these findings, candidate Shabtai Katsch has demanded a comprehensive review of all polling station data by an independent external company, including a full cross-check against original protocols. Knesset member Tali Gottlieb also called for corrections after discovering 249 missing votes in her count from a partial review.

While the current investigation is limited to a sample of polling stations, the extent of discrepancies uncovered has intensified calls for a full audit of the primary results to ensure their integrity. The Likud party has not yet announced any official response or corrective measures. The final impact on the candidate list and Knesset placements remains uncertain pending a thorough examination.
