25-Year-Old Seriously Injured in Shooting Near Kiryat Gat on Route 40
A 25-year-old man was seriously wounded in a shooting incident that occurred overnight between Friday and Saturday on Route 40 at the Pelugot Junction near Kiryat Gat. Police forces arrived at the scene and launched extensive searches to locate the suspects involved. Following the shooting, Route 40 from Pelugot Junction southwards was closed to traffic. According to police, the shooting was related to criminal activity.
Magen David Adom (MDA) teams evacuated the injured man to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba for urgent treatment. The MDA received the emergency call reporting the shooting at 00:48. Paramedic Roy Chazi described the victim as being inside a vehicle with severe penetrating injuries. He added that they provided life-saving medical care before transporting the man to the hospital in critical condition.
