Zvehil Yeshiva Inauguration and Major Hasidic Events Mark Spiritual Expansion in Israel

A significant event took place in Beitar Illit with the inauguration and mezuzah affixing ceremony at the Zvehil Yeshiva, led by the Zvehil Rebbe and the Gaavad, alongside other prominent rabbis from the city. This ceremony marked a milestone in the expansion of the community's spiritual institutions.

In parallel, various Hasidic groups commemorated important anniversaries and held gatherings across Israel and abroad. The Skulen Rebbes of Lakewood and Jerusalem jointly hosted a memorial meal for their ancestor, the Noam Eliezer of Skulen, with a notable gesture of humility as none took the central seat of honor. The Satmar Rebbe delivered a powerful speech against fraudulent intermediaries during a memorial event for his uncle, the Yoel Moshe of Satmar, and announced plans for thousands of affordable housing units and a large loan fund.

The Vizhnitz Hasidim assembled in Jerusalem for a massive prayer rally opposing military conscription, with the Vizhnitz Gaavad reiterating a strict directive from the Vizhnitz Rebbe against enlistment in any service track. The Skulen Rebbe of Lakewood also visited Israel recently, praying at holy sites in Jerusalem and the Galilee and meeting with other rebbes ahead of the High Holy Days.

Meanwhile, the Sanz-Kloiznburg Rebbe arrived in Israel for a surprise visit, planning to spend Shabbat in Safed and visit gravesites of righteous figures. In Beitar Illit, many rebbes and rabbis came to console the Rebbe of Ernestapel during his week of mourning for his late father, Dr. Meir Zev Friedman.

Other notable events included a major prayer gathering by the Gur and Vizhnitz Hasidim in Jerusalem to support Torah preservation, a dramatic incident in the Canadian Taash community involving a driver losing control amid fears of an attack, and the urgent medical visit of the Skulen Rebbe to New York due to his son-in-law’s critical condition. The month of Elul also inspired special teachings and calls for spiritual renewal across these communities.
