Israeli Tourist Arrested and Released on Bail for Suspected Forest Fire in Crete

A 35-year-old Israeli tourist was arrested in the Selia area of Rethymno, southern Crete, on suspicion of causing a forest fire. Greek authorities believe the fire started due to the use of a barbecue grill. Reports indicate the grill was lit in the yard of a rented villa despite a regional ban on open flames outside buildings at the time, due to high fire risk. The tourist was released on bail set at 10,000 euros.
