Rabbi Natan Shoham Awarded NIS 500,000 in Defamation Lawsuit Against Three Defendants

Rabbi Natan Yotam Shoham, head of the Hof HaSharon Regional Council, and Michael Shoham won a defamation lawsuit against Menachem Boyarski, Nechama Yaffa Te'ena (Boyarski), and Eilat HaShahar Weidberg (Boyarski). The court ruled that the defendants must pay a total of 500,000 shekels in damages. The ruling was issued by Judge Zahavit Hamo after the defendants failed to submit a defense, leading to a default judgment. The court found that the defendants published defamatory statements harming the plaintiffs' reputations, as detailed in the original claim.

In addition to the monetary compensation, the defendants were ordered to cease all defamatory publications related to the case and to remove any such content from their social media accounts and other platforms under their control. They were also jointly and severally responsible for court fees amounting to 6,250 shekels and attorney fees totaling 32,542 shekels, including VAT. The payments are to be made within 30 days of the judgment delivery, with legally mandated interest and linkage differentials accruing if delayed.
