Yair Golan Welcomes Fragmentation of Right-Wing Parties Ahead of Israeli Elections

Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Party, expressed satisfaction with the increasing number of small right-wing parties forming ahead of the Israeli Knesset elections scheduled for October 27. In an interview with the Arab-Israeli channel Hala TV, Golan noted that as the deadline for submitting party lists to the Central Elections Committee approaches, more right-wing factions are emerging to compete in the elections.

Golan stated that he is indifferent to how right-wing votes are divided among parties associated with that camp, mentioning specific figures like Ofer Winter and Gila Dardan, and wishing them a proliferation of parties "from here to infinity." When asked if this fragmentation benefits the Democratic Party, Golan responded that he believes it ultimately serves the interests of the State of Israel.

He criticized the current right-wing leadership, saying it has failed and caused "the heaviest disaster in the history of the State of Israel," destroying public norms and undermining the rule of law. Golan concluded that this right-wing bloc should be sent home.
