IDF Maintains Vigilance on Golan Border Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Despite relative calm along the Golan Heights border, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) remain on high alert. The heightened tensions with Turkey and its deepening involvement in Syria have prompted Israeli security agencies to closely monitor developments in the area. According to reports from Walla, no direct presence of Turkish forces has been detected near the Israeli border so far.

The IDF continues to conduct raids in villages adjacent to the border fence to locate weapons and prevent hostile groups from establishing footholds. The primary concern is targeted attacks against Israeli forces, especially the placement of explosive devices against patrols. Israeli security officials highlight that the abundance of weapons in Syria, combined with weak governance and lack of control in parts of the country, keeps the region volatile.

Additionally, the IDF is closely examining the potential threat of suicide drones, which have not yet appeared in the Golan but could spread to the Syrian front. Meanwhile, cooperation with the local Druze population remains positive, although the situation in Syrian villages could change rapidly, requiring ongoing vigilance.
