Agudat Yisrael's Yitzhak Goldknopf Secures Another Knesset Term with Gur Rebbe's Endorsement

Yitzhak Goldknopf, representing the Gur Hasidic sect within the United Torah Judaism party, will continue serving another term in the Knesset after receiving the blessing of the Gur Rebbe. This was reported on Monday by the Hamoshavah newspaper, which quoted the Rebbe praising Goldknopf as one of Agudat Yisrael's most dedicated activists over many years.

Goldknopf reflected on the challenges faced by the ultra-Orthodox community during the past term, describing it as a particularly difficult period marked by harsh persecution of Torah scholars despite the full right-wing government. He also addressed his resignation from the government following the failure to pass the conscription law, emphasizing that he acted in strict obedience to the directives of the leading rabbis, immediately stepping down from his government and coalition roles as instructed.

Expressing sorrow over the current situation, Goldknopf stressed the need to learn from recent events and pledged to work collaboratively with all United Torah Judaism representatives to make necessary corrections moving forward.
