Gur Rebbe Endorses Yitzhak Goldknopf to Continue as Hasidic Representative in Next Knesset

Yitzhak Goldknopf, the Knesset member representing the Gur Hasidic sect within the United Torah Judaism party, has received the blessing of the Gur Rebbe to continue serving as the community's representative in the upcoming Knesset. This endorsement was reported in Hamodia, a newspaper affiliated with the Gur Hasidim, which described Goldknopf as one of the most dedicated activists of Agudat Yisrael over many years.

Reflecting on the past Knesset term, Goldknopf acknowledged the difficulties faced by the ultra-Orthodox public, stating that it was a challenging period unlike any before, despite the full right-wing government. He emphasized that Torah scholars endured a harsh campaign of persecution during this time. Goldknopf affirmed that throughout the term, he acted in full compliance with the directives of the leading rabbis, including promptly resigning from his government and coalition roles as instructed.

Looking ahead, Goldknopf expressed sorrow over the current situation and stressed the need to learn lessons from recent events. He pledged to work collaboratively with all United Torah Judaism representatives to strive for improvements in the future.
