Rare Footage Reveals Remains of Destroyed Syrian Nuclear Reactor After 19 Years

Arab media outlets have released rare footage of the Syrian nuclear reactor site in Al-Kibar, Deir ez-Zor province, for the first time since its destruction nearly 19 years ago. The site, which had been closed off and inaccessible to media coverage throughout the years, is now shown in updated aerial images. The footage reveals the ruins of the reactor's main building, surrounded by stone debris and concrete spray covering the area. Additionally, the images show remnants believed to be access points to underground facilities within the nearby mountain. Destroyed infrastructure once part of a cooling system intended to connect to the nearby Euphrates River is also visible.
