Leader of Caucasian Crime Mafia Shot Dead Near Caesarea in Broad Daylight

Yanis Yusubaev, a 40-year-old resident of Or Akiva and alleged head of the so-called "Caucasian mafia," was fatally shot on Sunday afternoon at a gas station near Caesarea. Security camera footage shows the suspect entering a restaurant where Yusubaev was present; shortly after, both exit the venue, and the assailant shoots Yusubaev at close range before fleeing the scene. Police launched a large-scale manhunt for the suspects, who reportedly escaped by car. Authorities believe the killing is linked to criminal motives.

Yusubaev was a well-known figure to Israeli intelligence and police investigative units, considered a key target of the Central Unit in the Coastal District. He was recognized as a dominant figure in organized crime operating mainly in Or Akiva, Hadera, and the Sharon region. Despite his involvement in the food and restaurant business, his name repeatedly surfaced in police investigations and intelligence operations. Law enforcement had struggled to gather sufficient evidence to prosecute him for serious criminal offenses.

The police are currently investigating who orchestrated the planned assassination and the underlying conflict that led to the bold daytime shooting in a crowded public area.
