Moti Steinmetz Releases Moving Single 'Hakol Chafetz' for Jewish Days of Repentance
Moti Steinmetz, renowned for his heartfelt Hasidic music, has released a new single and music video titled 'Hakol Chafetz' timed for the upcoming Days of Repentance (Yamim Noraim). The song features an inspiring melody composed by Yanky Landau, who created the tune spontaneously while reciting the Selichot prayers, drawing deep musical inspiration from the sacred words. The lyrics, taken from traditional Selichot, express devotion and yearning for closeness to God, themes that Steinmetz conveys with emotional intensity and spiritual depth.
The musical arrangement and production were led by David Eichilvitz, who crafted a rich soundscape balancing contemporary musical elements with the original sanctity of the prayers. The recording includes prominent studio musicians such as Amir Aharon on drums, Alon Hallel on bass, Avi Singolda on guitars, and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra on strings, orchestrated by Eichilvitz. Vocal harmonies were performed by Yanky Landau, with mixing and mastering by Yair and Eyal Shariki.
Accompanying the single is a visually striking music video directed by Hershi Segal, filmed in the desert by David Orian with lighting by Yedidya Tadahar. The expansive desert scenery symbolizes the spiritual longing and supplication expressed in the Selichot. The overall production was overseen by Beni Barmel, with cover design by Avi Berman.
'Hakol Chafetz' is positioned as a powerful spiritual tool for Jewish listeners during this solemn period, joining other special musical works released for the Days of Repentance. It offers a moving interpretation of sacred texts, blending traditional prayer with contemporary musical artistry to deepen the connection to this significant time of year.
