Tzurit Turgeman Denounces Nahama Teena for Spreading False Private Recording Against Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu
Tzurit Turgeman, wife of singer Akiva Turgeman, publicly rejected a private and old recording of hers recently released by Nahama Teena. The recording was used by Teena in her campaign against Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu. Turgeman clarified that the recording was shared without her knowledge or consent and does not reflect her current views. She explained it was from a private conversation among seven people, where she repeated rumors she had heard at the time without verifying their truth.
Turgeman accused Teena of cynically exploiting the recording and her good name, including her connection to her husband, to defame Rabbi Eliyahu. She expressed shock at the unethical publication and emphasized that the recording is outdated and irrelevant. For about two years, Turgeman supported Teena and her family, including financial and emotional assistance, but later discovered their stories were lies and delusions, leading her to sever all ties about two years ago. She described Teena and the Boirski family as reckless and untrustworthy, noting she herself was later labeled by them as collaborating with "criminals."
Regarding the recording, Turgeman admitted she repeated unverified rumors in a private setting and now understands that even sharing such rumors constitutes defamation with serious consequences. She apologized to Rabbi Eliyahu and asked for forgiveness, affirming her respect for his important work and assistance on sensitive issues. She demanded that Teena and anyone distributing the recording remove it immediately, stating that Teena’s actions harm victims and those trying to help them, including Rabbi Eliyahu and his rabbinical court.
Turgeman concluded by taking responsibility for her part in spreading the rumors privately and apologized deeply for the harm caused to victims, helpers, Rabbi Eliyahu, and his court. Her public disavowal raises serious questions about Teena’s use of private recordings and names of former associates who have distanced themselves from her. A response from Nahama Teena and the Boirski family is pending if received.
