Israeli Hostage Survivor Criticizes Netanyahu Over Ignored Suffering and Public Appearance
Agam Goldstein-Almog, an Israeli woman who survived captivity in Gaza, sharply criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following footage of his attendance at a concert by singer Eden Ben Zaken at Menora Hall. In an Instagram story, Goldstein-Almog expressed deep anger at Netanyahu’s presence at the entertainment event, accusing him of neglect and lack of responsibility toward her since her release. She stated that Netanyahu has not contacted her, shown remorse for her ordeal, or met with her after her return from captivity. She described seeing the footage of Netanyahu at the concert as "a joke and a spit in my face."
Goldstein-Almog was abducted from her home in the Gaza envelope on October 7, 2023, along with her mother Chen and younger brothers Gal and Tal. During the brutal Hamas attack, her father Naor and older sister Yam were killed. After 51 days in captivity, Agam, her mother, and brothers were released in November 2023 as part of the first hostage exchange deal.
Her public condemnation highlights ongoing tensions and criticism regarding the Israeli leadership’s response to the kidnapping and the treatment of survivors. Netanyahu’s attendance at a public entertainment event shortly after the release of hostages has sparked controversy and emotional responses from victims and their families.
