Former Yamina MK Nir Orbach Sarcastically Criticizes Naftali Bennett Over Past Political Choices

Nir Orbach, former Knesset member for Yamina and former secretary general of the Jewish Home party, sharply criticized Naftali Bennett, his political patron for over a decade. During a recent election event for the party Beyachad, Bennett admitted he was not very effective in his previous political efforts, referring to his past leadership of New Right and Yamina lists. Responding sarcastically on social media, Orbach suggested that perhaps they were the ones who made a mistake in choosing Bennett, dating back 14 years.

Orbach played a key role in Bennett's political career, managing his 2012 primary campaign and serving as party CEO. Although he did not join Bennett's New Right venture, after losing the Jewish Home leadership race to Hagit Moshe, Orbach switched to Yamina ahead of the 2021 elections. He remained loyal to Bennett, supporting the coalition with Mansour Abbas and staying with the party until the government collapsed, unlike others who defected to the right.

Following the formation of Netanyahu's government, Orbach was appointed head of the Authority for Jewish Identity in the Prime Minister's Office. His recent public jab highlights ongoing tensions and reflections on Bennett's political trajectory and leadership effectiveness.
