Author Tomer Neuman Reveals He Is Behind Pen Name 'Teh' After 15 Years

For 15 years, the author known as "Teh" published eight books, including three bestsellers, while keeping his true identity hidden. With the release of his eighth book, the autobiographical novel "My Name Is Teh," Tomer Neuman publicly reveals that he is the writer behind the pen name. Neuman had avoided disclosing his name, face, or any identifying details throughout his career, during which he also built a large following of tens of thousands on social media and founded the Israeli Writers Festival.

"My Name Is Teh" blends real events from Neuman's life with fictional elements, intentionally blurring the lines between fact and fiction. The novel features conversations with deceased authors, a Faustian bargain, and a cancer that takes on a physical form. Central to the story is the relationship between the author and a woman who purchases his creative year, exploring themes of dreams, success, love, and the cost of artistic creation.

Neuman explained his decision to reveal his identity after so many years: "For 15 years, I let readers know only my writing. I felt it was time to share the story behind it." He described the new book as his most personal work, allowing him to meet readers without a mask for the first time.
