Turkey Rejects Netanyahu’s Trap Claims After Israeli Strike in Syria

Turkey’s presidency condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following an Israeli airstrike on a military airport in northwest Syria. In a statement released on Thursday, Ankara declared it would not fall into the "trap" allegedly set by Netanyahu, emphasizing its commitment to defending Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Turkish presidential communications director, Fahrettin Altun, stated that Turkey has enough experience to avoid provocations aimed at destabilizing peace and stability in the region.

The Israeli strike targeted the Abu al-Duhur military airport amid Israeli claims of a Turkish military presence there. However, Turkey denied these allegations, asserting no Turkish military delegation was present at the base during or before the attack. Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Defense criticized Israel for its "reckless" strikes in Syria and urged compliance with international law to maintain peace in Syria and the broader region.
