Israeli Interior Ministry Sets September 3 Deadline to Update Voting Addresses for October Elections
Ahead of the 26th Knesset elections scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, the Israeli Interior Ministry urges eligible voters to verify and update their voting addresses. The final deadline to change addresses in the population registry is Thursday, September 3, at 4:00 PM. Any approved address changes by this time will determine the polling station location for voters.
Voters can update their addresses online through the Population and Immigration Authority website. Additionally, polling station locations can be checked via the Interior Ministry website, WhatsApp, SMS, or a telephone hotline. To verify or update, voters must provide their nine-digit ID number with a control digit and date of birth.
The WhatsApp and SMS service is available 24/7 at 053-3801464. Telephone support is offered in Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, Amharic, and English at 1-800-101975 or 073-2458358, operating Sunday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM, and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. This initiative aims to ensure voters cast ballots near their current residence.
Separately, Israeli police have raised their alert level in preparation for potential extreme scenarios during the elections. Meanwhile, the Likud party's legal advisor plans to petition the Supreme Court against the chairman of the Central Elections Committee.
