Facebook Israel CEO Shares Heartbreaking Moment with Daughter in New Documentary on Women Leaders
A new Israeli documentary series titled "Money of Their Own," premiering Thursday at 10 PM on Kan 11, highlights the challenges faced by women leaders in Israel's male-dominated economic elite. The series features candid stories from top female CEOs, entrepreneurs, and heirs who discuss the difficulties of reaching leadership positions and the personal costs involved.
In the first episode, "Lonely at the Top," Facebook Israel CEO Adi Sofer-Tani recalls a poignant moment from her daily life that remains deeply etched in her memory. She describes how, on a busy workday during Purim when her daughter was in kindergarten, she was delayed by a meeting and arrived 15 to 20 minutes late. Her daughter, upset and refusing to enter the party without her, was left crying outside with her grandmother. Sofer-Tani reflects, "She was so angry and heartbroken. We went home, and she didn’t enter the Purim party. That moment was very important to her, and I wasn’t there."
Alongside Sofer-Tani, other senior female executives such as Rakefet Russak-Aminoach, Avia Magen, Anat Guetta, and Professor Karnit Flug share unprecedented insights into the experience of being "the only woman in the room," navigating male-dominated meetings, confronting deep biases about their capabilities, and questioning whether they have paved the way for future women or remain exceptions.

"Money of Their Own" is directed by Efrat Shalom-Danon and Osnat Treblesi, known for the acclaimed series "The Chosen Ones." It addresses the critical and influential topic of women, power, and economics in Israeli society.
