Hapoel Tel Aviv Basketball Hits Record Low Season Ticket Sales Despite Returning to Drive-In Arena

Hapoel Tel Aviv basketball has sold only 1,400 season tickets for the 2026/27 season, marking the lowest sales since the team played at the 1,400-seat Hadar Yosef arena. This figure is notably low despite the club's return to the Drive-In Hall (Kolel Shlomo) and the assembly of a highly invested team that reached the EuroLeague playoffs last season. The ticket sales were initially open only to last season's subscribers and have just opened to the general public, but no significant increase in sales is expected. The team had moved its home games last season to the Menora Mivtachim Arena in Yad Eliyahu, a decision that sparked protests and boycotts from fans who associate that venue with city rivals Maccabi Tel Aviv. The return to the Drive-In Hall was intended to bring back those fans, but the anticipated effect has not materialized. The club hopes more fans will join following the public sale opening, but the numbers are expected to remain far below previous seasons before the move to the southern arena.
