C14 Voters Support Itamar Ben Gvir Adding May Golan to Otzma Yehudit List
Following May Golan's demotion to an unrealistic spot on the Likud party list for the upcoming Knesset elections, a poll conducted among C14 website users asked whether Itamar Ben Gvir, leader of Otzma Yehudit, should include her on his party's list. Out of 1,306 respondents, approximately 67% supported the idea, while 33% opposed it.
This poll comes amid political upheaval for Golan, who after the Likud primaries faces the possibility of not securing a Knesset seat. Prior to the primaries, journalist Yinon Magal reported that Golan and Tali Gottlieb had engaged in talks about joining Ben Gvir's party, a claim Golan strongly denied, asserting the reports aimed to politically undermine her.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a political meeting after receiving information about these discussions, describing the data as "disturbing." While Gottlieb secured a realistic position on the Likud list, Golan was pushed far down, making a switch to Otzma Yehudit more plausible.
The poll results indicate that a significant majority of C14 voters favor giving Golan a new political opportunity through Ben Gvir's party. This development highlights ongoing shifts within right-wing Israeli politics ahead of the 2026 elections.
