Arel Segal Calls Former PM Bennett a 'Clown' Over Gaza Mediation Proposal
During a broadcast on Channel 14's program "The Patriots," Arel Segal sharply criticized former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's plan to involve Egypt in managing the Gaza Strip instead of Turkey and Qatar. Segal argued that Egypt had already played a central role in mediating with Gaza prior to the October 7 attacks, stating, "The Egyptians were the ones who arranged the ceasefire before October 7."
Segal questioned Egypt's transparency about the situation in Gaza, saying, "If they really know everything as Mr. Bennett claims, then they knew what was happening in Gaza but did not inform us." He then launched a personal attack on Bennett, calling him a "clown and a charlatan" and expressing frustration with what he described as Bennett's level of deceit. Segal urged Bennett not to return to politics, accusing him of knowingly spreading falsehoods.
Additionally, Segal referenced Bennett's past political cooperation with Mansour Abbas, implying that Bennett's statements on Gaza lack credibility. The exchange highlights ongoing tensions over how to handle Gaza and the regional actors involved in its management.
