Chief Rabbi Warmly Praises Former IDF Chief Gadi Eisenkot as Inspiration

At a ceremony inaugurating a memorial and study room dedicated to fallen Israeli soldiers, Chief Rabbi Kalman Bar warmly greeted former IDF Chief of Staff and current Yesh Atid party chairman Gadi Eisenkot. The event took place on Thursday evening, where Eisenkot, a bereaved father from the recent war, met with Rabbi Bar and shook his hand. During their brief conversation, Rabbi Bar told Eisenkot, "You are a source of inspiration." Eisenkot's son, Sergeant Major (res.) Gal Eisenkot, was killed in combat in the Gaza Strip at age 25. Gal served in the elite Maglan unit and died after his unit identified a tunnel in an open area in southern Gaza. He was injured by an explosion and later pronounced dead at Assuta Hospital in Ashdod.
