Israeli Prison Unit Intervenes as Inmate Threatens Suicide at Sharon Prison
At Sharon Prison in Israel, an inmate barricaded himself on a balcony while bleeding from self-inflicted injuries and threatening suicide. The elite Metzada Unit of the Israel Prison Service, along with prison guards and a negotiation team, were quickly deployed to the scene. They successfully subdued the inmate and prevented a serious incident. The inmate was then transferred for medical treatment. The Prison Service later emphasized that the Metzada Unit remains ready at all times for intensive operational activity both inside and outside prisons.
